Murano Island in Venice, Italy

The island of Murano is renowned for its long tradition of glass-making. It is a series of islands linked by bridges in the Venetian Lagoon, northern Italy. If you are to buy your authentic Murano glass or chandelier, this is the place to get them.

  1. Lovely photos! I hope to visit Italy someday πŸ™‚

  2. Visited Murano about 20 years ago. Your post brought back memories of how much I enjoyed the trip. We also spent a day on Burano and another very small island with a monastery whose name I can’t remember.

    1. Hi Helen. I actually enjoyed the boat ride from Venice to Murano more as staying in Venice can feel a bit claustrophobic. My next post is about Burano. πŸ˜€

      1. I look forward to reading about Burano. Venice in winter decades ago was fascinating. I don’t think I’d like it so much now. 😊
