Vienna, Austria

This capital city of Austria is simply clean, orderly and sophisticated. Vienna was our transit stop city on our way to Berlin from Budapest. It was a last minute decision to have a stopover in Vienna, as it was on the way to Berlin, we decided to stay for a couple of days. The city was surprisingly clean, orderly as the road and cycle lanes are well laid out and walking around the city day and night was safe. Tourist attractions are easy to reach and not overcrowded. I would say that this city is a smaller version of London and Paris but cleaner, less busy and has the look and feel of subdued sophistication.

Tip! if this is your transit stop, don’t stay far away from the main train station – Wien Hauptbahnhof. We stayed at Austria Trend Hotel beim Theresianum Wien which was just a few minutes walk from the train station and better book it at booking.com as their website is in German and I could not find the “translate button”.
